Review by Sky: Calla Lily, by Vivian Winslow

Calla Lily, by Vivian Winslow
Book 2 of the series, Gilded Flower
72 pages
5 stars
Blurb: Having experienced a profound personal and sexual awakening during her solo honeymoon to Brazil, New York socialite Lily Baron rushes back to New York upon hearing the news that her father has fallen ill. Now, Lily must take the helm of the Baron Media empire and fend off a high-stakes hostile takeover attempt. With the fate of the company hanging in the balance, will Lily be able to resist the advances of the luring, unwanted suitor in the boardroom as well as the bedroom? Things get steamy in this highly anticipated sequel to Gilded Lily.

Each book in this series just gets hotter and HOTTER! Seriously!
Not only do these installments feature, panting, hot, sex scenes, but also drool-worthy tall, dark, and handsome men.
This installment picks up right after the first book, where a call from her mother informing Lily of her ill father, she rushes back home to NYC and finds herse
lf as CEO of Baron Media until he can recover. Lily can’t seem to catch a break! The strong woman that she is, she picks up the job naturally and feels blessed that she will at least have something to occupy her mind from that damned Brazilionaire, Gustavo.
Hot Todd from the last book, is also quite a delectable distraction, and this time, she isn't leaving him hanging. Smooth sailing and not a thought of the Brazilian is on her mind, until . . . she finds herself on the opposite side of a board meeting from none other than . . . Gustavo.
Feeling betrayed and curious all in the same moment, she has to wonder if this wasn't coincidence at all. Eventually, family drama thickens when Gustavo’s motives and reasoning’s for chasing Lily slap her in the face with the truth . . . and her mother may have played a big part in her meeting with Gustavo.  After all the lies, and deceiving, Lily spirals into a state of madness.
Right when you start to believe things will never get better for Lily, she finds herself in the path of someone who knows exactly where she’s coming from, and how she feels. Young, dark, and . . . Alejandro. ;)
They find they have a lot in common, can vent about the weight of their parents business crushing their young lives. I thought they were SO perfect for each other! I feel like Lily began to believe so as well, but not having enough to get over her sister’s and fiancé's betrayal and the over-bearing, back-stabbing Gustavo, she felt it was too soon to even consider such thoughts, that he could do so much better than her.
Like strong, female characters I adore, she doesn't dwell too hard on it and pushes romance to the side temporarily to get down to business and uncover the truth about her father’s company and what fate it holds.  At this point, I am hoping Alejandro will be the ultimate lover, the one who wins her heart! Off to book three and see if my wish comes true!

Thanks, again, Vivian, for a copy of this series, I am still panting!
